Sgt Buzfuz begin warm-ups for sixth album “Balloons For Thin Linda” due in the autumn with a revamped seven piece where Joe Murphy is joined by Ian Button (David Cronenberg's Wife/Awkward Silences/Wreckless Eric/Death In Vegas) on drums, William Barr on mandolin, Eilish McCracken on violin, whistle and flute, Polly MacLean (Slate Islands) on bvs and new collaborators Stu Crane on cigar-box slide guitar and Joss Cope (ex-Weather Prophets) on bass.

Expect the unexpected from this highly entertaining band of maverick pop misfits who return from a two year hiatus in which Hawkins has had a book on the history of Santa Claus published by Simon and Schuster, written the theme tune to a French radio show and won the jackpot on the gameshow Pointless while drummer Ian Button has been producing albums by Darren Hayman and Lawrence (Go-Kart Mozart, ex-Felt and Denim.

DCW Sweet Boy EP out now

David Cronenberg's Wife release the 'Sweet Boy' EP today. The four tracks include a new version of 'Sweet Boy' from the recent 'Don't Wait To Be Hunted To Hide' album sung by keyboard player Rhi Tucker plus a version in German sung by Mary Boeker and a cover of The Seeds' 'Pushin' Too Hard'.

The coming year will see albums from Sheepy, Sergeant Buzfuz, Lucy's Diary and Slate Islands as well as singles from David Cronenberg's Wife and Emily capell among others.

The Blang year kicks off on January 27 with the release of Sheepy's debut eponymous album (CD and download) preceded on the 20th by digital single "These Clothes" b/w "Belly Dancer". "These Clothes" is currently being blasted out at Top Man shops around the UK as its currently on their playlist. A video will be unveiled in a few weeks.

2014 should also see Blang's 50th release which will be marked by a compilation CD and some fun and games.

Thomas Truax documentary and Peer Gynt theatre score

Thomas Truax has composed music for Theater Dortmund’s new production of Peer Gynt which is showing bi-monthly in Dortmund from now until June 2014. Thomas also performs live during the play.

Meanwhile a new 42 minute documentary “Hornicating With Thomas Truax”, made by David Cronenberg’s Wife frontman Tom Mayne, is viewable online here

Malcolm Kaksois plays two London shows next week, at the 12 Bar Club next Tuesday October 15th (onstage "sometime after 10.30 pm" says Malcolm and at Black Velvet, 3 North End Crescent, W14 on Friday 18th (Malcolm thinks he's on early)


Sheepy Little Chatterbox video

Sheepy's new video for "Little Chatterbox" was shot in Liverpool and has gained 7000 YouTube hits in the last 8 days. It's from the forthcoming "Sheepy" album, due in January.
